Vampire Survivors is preparing to welcome a new character on June 26, and let’s just say the inspiration doesn’t appear to be particularly well hidden.
Nikolas Kage will join the game’s ever-growing roster later this week, continuing a tradition that longtime Vampire Survivors players will likely recognize. This isn’t the first time developer Poncle has introduced a character that bears more than a passing resemblance to a certain Hollywood actor, and fans have already begun enjoying the joke.
The announcement arrived with a touch of trademark Vampire Survivors humour. Posting on social media, the developer described the timing as “super awkward,” though exactly why remains unclear for now. Whether that’s teasing a gameplay gimmick, an in-game event, or simply leaning into the absurdity of the character itself remains to be seen.
Since launching in 2021, Vampire Survivors has built a reputation for turning simple ideas into wonderfully chaotic experiences. Players battle overwhelming enemy hordes while collecting weapons, upgrades, and evolutions that gradually transform a vulnerable survivor into a screen-clearing force of destruction. Along the way, the game has expanded with dozens of characters, multiple DLC packs, crossover collaborations, and local co-op support.
Nikolas Kage becomes the latest addition to that growing cast, arriving as Vampire Survivors continues to find new ways to surprise players more than five years after its original debut.
