How much health would you be willing to sacrifice for more power?
That’s the question sitting at the heart of Mr Bunny, a newly released action roguelite that turns every lost heart into extra damage. The closer you get to death, the stronger you become, creating a constant temptation to push your luck just a little further.
It’s the kind of mechanic that can turn even a routine fight into a dangerous gamble. Do you play it safe and protect your remaining health, or deliberately walk the line between victory and disaster in exchange for more destructive attacks?
That risk-reward balancing act is only part of the challenge.
Mr Bunny’s strange world is built around a constant struggle between sunlight and moonlight. During the day, the sun works in your favour, burning enemies and helping you survive. Once darkness arrives, however, everything becomes considerably more complicated.
Enemies can heal themselves, slip into the shadows, transform into werewolves, or shield themselves from damage entirely. Fortunately, players aren’t forced to simply endure these changes. By opening and closing windows throughout each run, you can manipulate how much sunlight enters the environment, turning light itself into a tactical weapon.
The deeper you progress, the stranger things become.
Every enemy defeated nudges Mr Bunny closer to becoming “Unholy,” a corruption that gradually alters the rules of the world around him. The sun that once protected you can eventually become your enemy, burning you instead of the creatures you’re trying to defeat.
Set within the Veil, a realm suspended between life and death, the game builds much of its challenge around managing these competing forces. Power comes with consequences, survival requires adaptation, and every decision feels like it’s pulling you toward one fate or another.
While Mr Bunny isn’t available just yet, players can request access to a playtest on Steam.
