Trading cards have officially been added to horror hit Xenosensory, adding to its growing collection of unlockables, upgrades, and rewards. For some players, it’s a small addition, but for others, it’s the beginning of a brand-new obsession.
The update gives players the chance to collect trading cards while exploring the game’s strange and unsettling world, unlocking the usual Steam rewards along the way, including badges, profile customisation options, and bragging rights for those determined to complete the set.
The addition feels right at home in a game that already revolves around progression.
Set aboard a deep-space prison overrun by bizarre Xenos and mysterious Anomalies, Xenosensory mixes incremental mechanics with horror themes to create a surprisingly compelling gameplay loop. Instead of relying on twitch reflexes or lightning-fast reactions, players simply hover their cursor over enemies to eliminate them, earning research points that can be invested into an ever-growing list of upgrades and improvements.
What begins as a simple click-and-upgrade experience gradually opens into something much larger.
Players can unlock gadgets, special abilities, randomizer options, story logs, and even an unusual A.I. Pong minigame that generates additional resources while you play. The result is a game that constantly finds new ways to reward curiosity and experimentation. The newly added trading cards slide neatly into that structure.
For players already working through upgrade trees and chasing unlocks, the cards provide another reason to keep diving back into the station’s increasingly strange corridors. It’s a small update on paper, but one that adds another collectible element to a game built around watching numbers grow and discoveries stack up.
Whether this is simply a fun extra for existing players or a sign of more updates to come remains to be seen. Either way, Xenosensory just gave completionists one more thing to hunt for, and that’s rarely a bad way to keep an incremental game ticking along.
