Girl With Gun Asks A Simple Question, Can You Survive The Date?

A dating simulator where a wrong answer gets you killed isn’t a fresh premise on its own. What sets Girl with Gun apart is that the setting itself is the antagonist, actively weaponizing your stress as part of the trial.

Developer dkotl’s Girl with Gun launched on June 13, 2026 as a roguelike dialogue-heavy experience where you sit across from a mysterious woman holding a shotgun. She asks two-option questions. Your answers feed four meters: Fun (your path to survival), Madness (instant death if maxed), Rationality (a brake on Madness), and Sadness (a drain on Fun). The trick is balancing all three while she watches, trigger finger ready. Every choice reshapes her emotional state and your odds of walking out alive.

But the setting is the game’s real hook. The damp cave doesn’t just host the date, it reacts to it. Cockroaches scurry. Drawings appear and vanish. The walls seem to breathe. This is roguelike atmosphere in service of psychological tension, not just window dressing. Your phone becomes your only ally, displaying vital meter readings and offering a random button that can either save you or spike your Madness without warning. Random SMS messages add unpredictability between questions.

Each failed run unlocks a new photo that peels back layers on the girl or the cave itself, rewarding repeated attempts with narrative scraps. It’s roguelite progression wrapped around the core roguelike loop of dialogue trees with permanent death stakes. The design suggests Girl with Gun is less interested in romance than in mapping the breaking point where compatibility becomes survival.

You can also download a demo of this horror inspired roguelite on Itch.io. It’s not a huge game, but it’s great for players looking for a short, intense roguelite.
