Being branded a heathen Boneraiser and hunted, hanged, and burnt didn’t quite go as planned for King Gigald’s crusade. Those already dead can’t exactly be killed again, and now it’s payback time, one raised skeleton army at a time.

Boneraiser Minions is a gothic-horror auto-battler roguelite from developer caiys, combining Survivor-like bullet heaven combat with necromantic army building. Dashing around battlefields to collect bones, raising and upgrading undead minions on the fly, and turning fallen heroes’ souls into permanent power, you’ll build an ever-growing legion capable of standing against King Gigald’s endless crusade.

What Makes It Different?

  • Dash around collecting bones to raise and upgrade minions mid-fight
  • Command minions with distinct fighting styles, from pulverisers to hexers
  • Choose between multiple game modes, including crypt defense and endless skirmishes
  • Collect Relics and Spell Scrolls for powerful boosts and clutch abilities
  • Spend coins between runs on a deep meta-progression system
  • Learn new abilities by stealing hero souls tied to specific classes
  • Compete on Steam leaderboards to prove your legion reigns supreme

An Army Built on the Fly

Rather than fighting solo, Boneraiser Minions hands most of the combat over to a growing legion of raised undead. Bones collected from fallen enemies get poured directly into new minions or upgrades for existing ones, and since each minion type fights differently, whether that’s melee brutes, ranged casters, or supportive hexers, building a balanced army becomes the real strategic layer beneath the chaos.

Five Ways to Raise the Dead

Boneraiser Minions offers a genuinely varied set of modes rather than a single fixed loop. Mausoleum Awakens tasks players with defending a crypt using traps and contraptions, Necrotic Skirmishes strips things back to a pure endurance test against growing hordes, and a full Castle Conquest mode sends players choosing their own path toward the Queen’s Palace. Layered on top of all that sits a deep meta-progression system, letting classes like the quantity-focused Liche or the deamon-summoning Deamologist be unlocked and refined over time.

How Long Does a Run Take?

The average single run time for a completed game is about 15 to 25 minutes, averaging roughly 20 minutes per standard successful map or session, depending on the specific map and mode. Early or standard maps tend to run around 15 minutes, while later, harder maps can stretch to 25 minutes, and endless modes or loops can run significantly longer depending on how long a minion build survives. Main story objectives take about 5 hours on average, main story plus extras runs closer to 16 hours, and full completion sits around 49 to 50 hours.

Controller Support

Boneraiser Minions features Full Controller Support for Xbox Controllers and DualShock Controllers.

Good If You Like…

If you enjoyed Skelly Selest, Brotato, or Soulstone Survivors, Boneraiser Minions’ mix of bullet heaven combat and necromantic army building should be well worth a look.
