Developed by Mysterious Alien, Question Roulette launches today, combining fast-paced trivia with roguelite runs and Russian roulette. There are more than 1,500 questions to work through, but knowing the answers is only half the battle. You also need to answer quickly, outscore your opponent, and hope luck is on your side when things go wrong.
More Than 1,500 Questions Are Waiting
At its heart, Question Roulette is still a trivia game. Questions jump between different subjects, and the aim is to answer correctly as quickly as possible. Speed matters because you’re competing directly against an opponent for points, so knowing the answer eventually isn’t much use if whoever you’re facing gets there first.
There are more than 1,500 questions included at launch, giving the game plenty to pull from as you make your way through each run.
In single-player, you’ll face four different AI opponents with increasing difficulty levels. You’ll need to defeat the easier challengers before moving onto the tougher ones, turning what could have been a straightforward collection of trivia rounds into something closer to a progression-based challenge.

Wrong Answers Can Get a Lot More Expensive
Losing on points isn’t your only concern. Russian roulette is worked directly into the game, meaning poor performance can leave considerably more than your score at risk. Surviving therefore requires a mixture of knowledge, speed, and luck, because even knowing an impressive number of completely useless facts can’t guarantee everything will go your way.
Die or lose the overall points battle and your current run ends, sending you all the way back to the beginning. That permadeath is where the roguelite structure starts making a fairly simple trivia concept much more interesting. Every answer is helping you move toward the next opponent, but one bad round can wipe out the progress you’ve made getting there.
Being confidently wrong has rarely been quite so dangerous.
You Can Put Your Friends Through It Too
If beating AI opponents isn’t enough, Question Roulette also includes online PvP. You can challenge a friend directly or go up against a stranger, putting both players’ knowledge and ability to stay calm under pressure to the test.
It’s arguably where the concept makes the most sense. Trivia is already considerably more entertaining when you’re trying to prove you know more than someone else, and adding the possibility of an entire run falling apart gives every mistake a little more weight.
Steam leaderboards are supported too, providing another reason to get quicker once you’ve started learning your way around the game’s enormous question pool.
